Nathan was born in Iowa and lived around animals all throughout his childhood. He spent his summers helping out on the different farms owned by his relatives, which included tending to the horses and dogs. It was during these years in the quietude and nature of his small town that he developed his gift of relating to dogs and understanding their needs. Shortly after relocating to Arizona in 2005 and earning a certification from the Animal Behavioral College in Phoenix, he began working as a professional dog trainer and word quickly spread of his superior results. It wasn’t long before Nate became known as the trainer who could resolve the dog behavioral issues that no other trainers could. Nate is considered to be the highest rated trainer in his metropolitan area, specializing in issues such as anxiety, insecurity, excessive barking, lunging out, aggression, fighting with other dogs in the home, pulling on the leash, and destructive behaviors. To date, Nathan and his own pack of dogs have helped over 5,000 dogs, most of which have been rescues. He is the creator of his signature Rescue the Mind™ 3-Step System which provides owners with a simple and effective method of leadership that can dramatically improve a dog’s behavior with the least amount of stress. Through education and the practical application of his methods, Nate aims to increase the quality of life for both owners and rescue dogs, and to decrease the number of rescue dogs being returned to shelters after adoption.
